Italy Travel Guide

Italy... it is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe and all over the globe. What a magnificent landscape it has! – the impressive Alps and the magnificent white shores of the Mediterranean sea, hundreds of small, charming lakes, fascinating rivers and vast green planes. A place everyone has dreamt to visit at least for a day. But once you do try the taste of the fine Italy you can never forget it and will become truly addicted to it. And that is the main reason why so many people, coming from places across the world, visit Italy every year, no matter the season! Luckily, the climate of the country is quite temperate. This is due to the natural barrier of the Alpine mountains, which stops the cold winds coming from the North. Summer is really hot to the south, but in the Alps and the central Apennines is cool and pleasant. Yet, in the mountains winters are cold, while at the seaside the climate is mild. Just think of it. Skiing? Of course, you have a variety of options to choose from – the picturesque ‘Gem of the Alps’, as the village Alagna Valsesia is well known, the village Paganella, located on a natural balcony right over the Adige Valley, Trinite and St Jean – the two parts of the resort Gressoney, famous for the best skiing in the Monterosa Ski area and many many others. The winter vacation couldn’t be more pleasant and relaxing than that! What about Italy during the summer? It is probably the best season for tourism in Italy. All those wide, white-sand beaches packed noisy and scantily-clad people, whose only one worry is how to spend their vacation the best way possible. All those tiny alleys and lovely streets, enchanting little shops and booths, fabulous boutiques and luxury restaurants… Who said pizza? Of course, pizza is one of the most popular foods worldwide. There are hundreds of recipes for pizzas in almost every country, but the original pizza is made only here, in Italy. How come? Well, it is said that pizza was invented by the Romans and has been a basic part of the Italian diet since the Stone Age. And let’s not forget the Italian wine! The inhabitants of Italy have been producing wine for thousands of years and it is recognised as one of the finest worldwide. Is Italy now at the top of your vacation list? If so, there are a few places whose visitation is a must. First destination – Sicily. This is a sunny island whose landscape is rich in contrasts, with a splendid coastline and a refined, delicious and varied cuisine of traditional flavours and exquisite aromas. Sicily is also known for its historical testimony, being one of the islands on which the Greek civilization flourished. There are so many things to say about that magnificent country. But the best thing is not to talk about it. Italy should be visited, don’t trust what others tell you about it, check it out for yourself.
