Japan Travel Guide

Do you fancy the idea of taking a little trip around Japan? Despite the fact that it is not a very big country, Japan has various attractions to see. Every region of Japan has its own unique sights and features, which will grab you with their diversity. It is very well known that over the past two decades, the power of this small island - country to affect the rest of the world has grown at a quite astonishing and even little scaring rate. The reach of Japanese industry, finance and technology worldwide has been felt in almost every country. Even though its products and technologies are recognised throughout the planet Japan still remains something like an enigma to most people, partially because the country has faced more formidable barriers to the export of its cultural, artistic and intellectual accomplishments than it has to the products of its industries. Today, the volume of information on Japan that reaches other countries is small in comparison to need. No matter the season, there is always something happening in Japan and whatever your interests are there certainly is an event for you to enjoy. If you want you can watch a real spectacle – choose the famous everywhere in the world Sumo tournament. Others may prefer to experience the breathtaking colour of a fireworks festival or just marvel at the ornate costumes and settings of Kabuki drama. You can be sure that if you choose to include a cultural event in your attractions-to-see list you will have a unique opportunity to take part in the Japanese culture and meet some of the locals, and, believe it, it is a wonderful way to make your trip to Japan even more memorable! Tokyo is the capital city of Japan and is also among the largest ones not only in Japan, but in the world as well. In ancient times its name was Edo and even nowadays you can hear that name from the citizens. Tokyo is now Japan's centre for political, economic, cultural, and various other activities as well as one of the most preferred tourist destinations in the world. One of the main reasons why so many want to visit Tokyo is the fact that it is a city which brings the most modern wonders of technology, commerce and architecture side by side with the old, and has something for everyone. During the World War II two Japan cities became notorious throughout the world after the horrible American bombings that killed thousands of innocent people. The cities are Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Even though you should not go there thinking of these cities only as ruins, as they are not. If you are expecting to step off the Shinkansen into a pile of smouldering rubble may be in for a surprise, as modern Hiroshima is a Japanese city like any other. There are several monuments in Peace Memorial Park, one of them - the A-Bomb Dome. This particular one is Hiroshima's best-known symbol. There are so many other cities in Japan you can visit, so many attractive places, mountains, wells and waterfalls, all of them so marvellous that can take your breath away! The rich culture of the people of Japan is so interesting and different than the cultures of all the other peoples on the world that it still fascinates and attracts visitors. And hopefully this charming and magical feeling and atmosphere will never leave Japan and this island will always remain a mystery.
