United Kingdom Travel Guide

Britain is full of contrasts - it doesn't matter which direction you will choose to travel to, you will surely find a wide variety of landscapes and diverse cultures to explore. England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are all unique countries with their own customs, cultures and traditions. The United Kingdom of Great Britain, Britain or simply UK is a country that has a wealth of natural and historical heritage to explore and the cosmopolitan cities offer a vast range of cultural attractions: our performing arts are justifiably famous. The reasons to choose the United Kingdom as your holiday destination are endless. There are not only wonderful cities, but also magnificent historical and non historical places to visit in United Kingdom. It is more than obvious that the history of London is quite long and complex, and it largely runs concurrently with the history of much of the rest of England. The reason why London impresses visitors from the new countries all over the world is that so much of the fabric of society, as well as buildings and places, are steeped in history. London is a unique city. There is no other place or city in the world that can duplicate its amazing character and atmosphere. Although there may be other cities which are definitely more modern, being new ones, and just as urbane in the English-speaking world, the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain is a place that should be experienced if at all possible. London is the keystone of England, and to most English speakers it is, in a very strange way something like a second home. Well, this does not mean that London is only for the English speaker. For people all over the world who are fortunate enough to be able to travel there, it is an incredibly popular destination. In these days of globalization, London is like a common denominator - its links with the rest of the world seem unlimited. Glasgow - the multi-cultural, multi-faceted and industrious city, Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland, with the population of the city proper plus Greater Glasgow reaching over a million. It is located at only 72 km (45 mi) from Edinburgh, but it has its own individual personality through its expressive, animated and endlessly entertaining people. The Glaswegian accent has morphed the English language into its own distinctive form, the city's 500-year-old university has seen the development of theories that would eventually impact the globe and its ardent football enthusiasts have changed the meaning of what it is to be a true fan. Northern Ireland is just as Irish as the Republic of Ireland - the other part of the wonderful and totally unique island. Any visit to Ireland inevitably provides one of the greatest travel experiences around. So, you see that there is a lot to see in the United Kingdom. Although the Island is well known for its bad weather, you should not be frightened by it. A few rainy days spent in England will give you a lot of memories to keep your mind busy for the next couple of months. Do not hesitate... you will be more than delighted after visiting The United Kingdom.
